Getting Inspired

No matter your profession, you need a little time for inspiration in order to grow.  I think that's important whether you're a photographer, an engineer, a teacher, etc.  Being inspired literally means to breath into or be filled.

Every year I try to slip away at least once to study with other photographers, and this year it was Elizabeth and Trey Homan at Texas School, a well-known school among professional photographers.  Elizabeth is an incredible artist and, as a former dancer, has a lot of experience with photographing dancers.  These images are from the class on a day where subject, light, and location came together to create magic.  And inspiration.

A Sweetheart of an Opportunity

Just in time for Valentines Day....Timeless Fine Art Black and White portraits.   Nothing is as gorgeous as having the faces of the ones you love displayed on your wall in style.  Here is a rare opportunity to have a special short studio session with Mandy and a wonderful chance for families, couples and individuals that want to celebrate what they love most.  Call or use the Contact page to book.  Limited openings.

Santa at the Graham Carroll House

This year we're offering sessions with Santa at the Graham Carroll House Bed and Breakfast in Muskogee.  Bring the kids to this beautiful home for a magical time of stories, milk and cookies with Santa. The session is 20 the little ones have time to talk and enjoy their time with Saint Nick.  These gorgeous portraits are something you'll want to display on your walls in your home for many Christmases to come.  Contact us to set up and plan your session.

Karin Walkingstick, Cherokee Pottery Artist

Karin recently came in for some professional portraits.  She debuted her talent last year at Oklahoma's Trail of Tears Art Show, and walked away with numerous awards, including "Emerging Artist of the Year" and "The People's Choice."  Since then, her art has taken her many places all over the U.S., and was recently featured in the Sherwin Miller Museum of Jewish Art's Native American exhibit.   Karin is Cherokee, and blends tradition with contemporary to create amazingly beautiful pieces, without a pottery wheel.

I've included a few images of her work here (I did not photograph the pieces, just Karin!)

Tiger Theatre Company's Sound of Music

Fort Gibson's Tiger Theatre Company did a phenominal job of producing the Sound of Music this year.  Congratulations to all the students, teachers, parents and helpers that made it such a success!  Here are links to the cast portraits and the performance photos.  Read the instructions carefully if ordering.  If you are a parent, family member or friend, or falculty member and don't have the password and wish to see, you can contact the studio on the contact page, or contact Melanie Wicks or Beth Brannon.

Fall Families

It's been the MOST wonderful time of the year....for family portraits!  Here are a few recent favorites, taken before the leaves fell.  There's no better art for your home than having the faces you love on your wall to see from now on.
